Chestnut Square Historic Village brings Collin County history to life! Located on 2.5 acres just south of the historic downtown McKinney Square, Chestnut Square takes visitors back in time through a collection of 10 historic structures dating from 1854-1930.
The Heritage Guild of Collin County, a 501c3 non-profit organization, oversees Chestnut Square. The mission of The Heritage Guild is:
To preserve and perpetuate the heritage of Collin County.
The Heritage Guild achieves this mission by preserving Chestnut Square and providing the following:
- Walk up public tours of the historic village on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 11:00.
- School tours, group tours and luncheons by reservation.
- Living History Days with crafter demonstrations and special themes on select Sundays.
- An annual historic tour of homes the first weekend in December.
- Educational programs and Prairie Adventure Camps for children ages 7-12.
- Facility rentals for weddings, receptions, special occasions and business meetings.
- Volunteer opportunities that provide connections to the community and its history.
