Chestnut Square Historic Village brings Collin County history to life!  Located on 2.5 acres just south of the historic downtown McKinney Square, Chestnut Square takes visitors back in time through a collection of 10 historic structures dating from 1854-1930.

The Heritage Guild of Collin County, a 501c3 non-profit organization, oversees Chestnut Square.  The mission of The Heritage Guild is:

To preserve and perpetuate the heritage of Collin County.

The Heritage Guild achieves this mission by preserving Chestnut Square and providing the following:

  • Walk up public tours of the historic village on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 11:00.
  • School tours, group tours and luncheons by reservation.
  • Living History Days with crafter demonstrations and special themes on select Sundays.
  • An annual historic tour of homes the first weekend in December.
  • Educational programs and Prairie Adventure Camps for children ages 7-12.
  • Facility rentals for weddings, receptions, special occasions and business meetings.
  • Volunteer opportunities that provide connections to the community and its history.

Come visit Chestnut Square and get connected with McKinney’s history!
