On Saturday, September 20 and Saturday October 11 we will offer Dutch Oven Cooking classes.
You've tasted the pies, cobblers, biscuits, beans, chili , stew and more at Chestnut Square's Living History Days. Now we're offering you the opportunity to learn how to cook in a Dutch oven over an open fire. James West, renowned Dutch oven cook and regular at our Living History Days is offering a Dutch oven cooking class on Saturday, September 20 and Saturday, October 11 during the Farmers' Market at Chestnut Square. Learn from the master - James has taught hundreds of Boy Scouts the secret of successful Dutch oven cooking and is a judge in the annual Round Up on the Range Dutch oven cooking competition which draws cooks from around the country. At the end of the class, you'll know the basics of open fire cooking and food preparation and will have participated in the preparation of a full Dutch oven meal. You'll also take away your very own seasoned Lodge 12 quart Dutch oven (a $139 value). Call Chestnut Square at 972-562-8790 today to sign up for this one of a kind opportunity. Class sizes are limited to 15.
